C.O.R.E

C.O.R.E is a First Person Stealth Puzzle game where players have to traverse through a hostile world by utilizing trap based mechanics.

Duration: 6 months (September 2017 - April 2018)

Notable Achievements:

  • DigiPen Game Awards - Winner for Best 3D Visual Design

Level Designer

 

  • Designed level layouts based on intensity and mastery curve.

  • Identify and iterate level design by changing enemy placement and positioning narrative scenarios in the levels.

  • Communicate level specifications with team members using images done in Adobe Photoshop.

  • Blocked out 3D level layouts based on design specifications and iterate levels using 3DS MAX.

  • Integrated levels into the game engine and iterated level changes based on feedbacks and mechanic changes.  

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Designate level specifications for project

  • Conceptualize level designs 

  • Block out 3D levels for fast prototyping using 3DS MAX

  • Manage intensity and mastery curve in level designs

  • Integrated levels and iterate level changes based on design changes and feedbacks

  • Design 8+ levels

Level Design Choices

  • The levels were made in accounts with the Intensity curve in mind where each level sections are divided into 2 categories: Action & Puzzle.

  • Each level sections alternates so as to accommodate player's intensity curve where Puzzle elements decrease the intensity curve where the Action elements increase the intensity curve.

 

3D Modeler

  • Created enemy models and related animations using 3DS MAX. ​

  • Create and modify some environment assets using 3DS MAX.

​

  • Conceptualize enemies

  • Model enemies using 3DS Max

  • Rig and animated enemies using 3DS MAX
